Cheryl’s life experience in Madison saw her growing up with her siblings, parents and friends. She received her education from the Madison County School District, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, and became a member of the Rocky Springs Missionary Baptist Church. As a young adult, she worked hard to create a home for her children and raised them not only to make her proud, but more importantly, to love the Lord too. Cheryl was a compassionate person who demonstrated her love for the Lord in her daily life. She knew that to have a friend, she had to be a friend first. She loved to cook and willingly shared her meals with others. Anything she could do to help someone in need, she did it voluntarily and with a happy heart. She also had a very positive attitude towards life and many things that others complained about easily. Being positive gave her reason to smile and “smell the roses.” “It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. Because part of us went with you the day God called you home. On Saturday, January 15, Cheryl Denise Newsome kept her Heavenly Father’s promises and answered His call by sleeping peacefully in eternal rest.
