TEXARKANA, Texas – Another vacant church property finds itself housing a new congregation.
Christ Community Church, formerly on North State Line Avenue, has taken over the building formerly occupied by Landmark Pentecostal Church, which recently completed its move to its new home on Mall Drive, the building long occupied by Church on the Rock.
Earlier this year, Church on the Rock moved into the renovated retail space that was once Gander Mountain at University Avenue and Interstate 30.
According to their website, Christ Community Church was officially established in 2009, but began to come together long before that, to “establish a central group and solidify a vision.” Our central motivation as a church is an unwavering commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ. . “
Their pastor is Jared Gibson who grew up in Wake Village.
He began serving at First Baptist Church, Wake Village, as a student minister. He would later earn his master’s degree in divinity, get married, and in seminary the couple would experience the call to church planting. From this, Christ Community Church was born.
