Community farewell for Pastor Heidi Hagstrom | News, Sports, Jobs

LAFAYETTE – Pastor Heidi Hagstrom of Fields of Grace Lutheran Parish is retiring with a cancer diagnosis.

Pastor Heidi’s retirement will be recognized during a community farewell on Sunday October 24 at the Lafayette Charter School

Today’s events will include a brief ecumenical worship service, waffle brunch, short program, and raffle.

The short worship service, consisting of song, prayer and a short message, will take place at 9:30 a.m. in the school gymnasium.

Dad’s Belgian waffle breakfast will be served from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., also in the gym. A free will offering will be accepted, with the proceeds going to Pastor Heidi.

The Lafayette Area Lions Club is holding a raffle to help cover pastor Heidi’s medical and living expenses. Tickets are available at Citizens Bank Minnesota in Lafayette, from members of Fields of Grace, or from Sandy Hartley at 507-276-4692. The $ 500 and $ 250 prize draw will take place at 2 p.m. during the event.

Hagstrom has been with Fields of Grace churches since December 2015. She has been active in the Lafayette area through her church family, the Lafayette Charter School, the Backpack Food Program, the Lafayette Area Lions and other community organizations and events.
