Hampton Events for the week of May 9, 2022: Recycle Rama, Big Band Concert
Recycle Rama scheduled for May 14
The Township of Hampton will be hosting its Recycle Rama event from 9 a.m. to noon in the Hampton Community Park/Community Center parking lot.
Vendors will be on site to accept the materials to be recycled, according to these conditions:
• JVS Electronics has a strict limit of one TV per car. A list of items that will not be collected is available at www.hampton-pa.org/DocumentCenter/View/3488/JVS-Electronics?bidId=.
• Construction Junction only accepts building materials if they are in good condition. Not accepted less than 100 square feet of tile or matching flooring, CRT TV cabinets or entertainment units (not suitable for most flat screen TVs), stone slabs , counters or window sills, flush hollow interior or folding doors, due to overstocking of all items. • Paper shredding, sponsored by State Representative Lori Mizgorski, has a limit of two 13-gallon bags or boxes per car. Magazines, books, metal and plastics are not accepted. Materials will be shredded on site at the event. Document shredding will end before noon if the shredding truck reaches capacity.
• Thrivent Bike collects used bikes in repairable condition. Items not accepted include tricycles, scooters and other ride-on toys.
Hampton Presbyterian Church Big Band will host the event
The Hampton Presbyterian Church Big Band is hosting a dance event from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on May 13.
Free dance lessons will be given by Matthew Lawther from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the band will perform live music afterwards. Tickets are $10 each and are free for children 12 and under. Live band, food and dance lessons are included.

North Hills Chorale will pay tribute to Sondheim
The North Hills Chorale will host its spring concert, “Sounds of Sondheim: A Tribute Concert,” May 14-15.
The first show will be Saturday at 7 p.m. at Bakerstown’s First Presbyterian Church, 5825 Heckert Road. The second event will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Park Church, 8800 Peebles Road.

Hampton Presbyterian Church plans car show
All makes and models are welcome at the car show hosted by the Hampton Presbyterian Church from 2-6 p.m. May 21.
Music will be provided by DJ Denny Dutko and guests can enjoy various food stalls.

Shaler, Etna and Millvale Police Departments, along with Shaler Hampton EMS, will be hosting a bike rodeo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 21 at Kiwanis Park. Children will be equipped and receive a free bike helmet, learn how to ride safely and can participate in a free raffle to win a new bike. For more information or to register, visit shaler.org.
Sign up for the free Mega Sports Camp at Northgate Church
Back for its ninth year, Northgate Church Mega Sports Camp is a week of free fun for kids in grades one through six.
Camp dates are 6-8:30 p.m. June 20-24 at the Church, 238 West View Ave., Ross.
Youth can choose baseball, basketball, soccer, cheerleading, gymnastics, dodgeball or art clinics.
Upbeat music, games, skits, songs and learning Bible stories are also part of the activities designed to help children discover their character traits for success in life.
