Leland Church holds groundbreaking ceremony for new place of worship
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A local church held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday, celebrating its plan to enter a new place of worship.
The Bridge Presbyterian Church officially opened its new location on Lanvale Road. The church was launched in 2014 and operates out of space in the Village Shoppes in Waterford. The congregation has grown significantly since its launch and voted to purchase the new Lanvale Road property in January. The church closed on the property in April.
The new church will have a larger sanctuary, offices and daycare as well as outdoor spaces.
This space will greatly expand our mission and our ministry in the community, it will give us the opportunity to do so many things that the rented space would never allow us to do. So we are thrilled and thinking imaginatively about what the spirit is going to do to lead us in a whole new way to bless the community around us,” said Doug Cushing, pastor of Bridge Presbyterian Church.
The building on Lanvale Road housed The Life of Victory Everlasting Ministry until earlier this year and is fitted out for a church, but The Bridge Presbyterian Church is planning renovations to the building. they hope to hold services in the new church by the fall.
