Lil Tjay’s associates were shot and injured in robbery

Lil Tjay’s suspect was allegedly shot and wounded by the rapper’s associates.

The attempted murder suspect accused of shooting rapper Lil Tjay in an attempted robbery while at Edgewater Mall in New Jersey was also shot, according to a police report.

According to a police report filed by prosecutors, defendant Mohamed Konaté, 27, suffered a gunshot wound that was discovered after his arrest at a New York hospital. He was nursing several gunshot wounds.

The report also details Lil Tjay’s injuries, noting that he was seriously injured as he was shot multiple times in the chest cavity (upper body). It is not known if any of his vital organs were affected. Not much has been shared publicly, but prosecutors said the rapper remains hospitalized and in serious condition.

According to the report, the defendant was also aided by an ‘unidentified co-conspirator’ after he shot the rapper and was shot by Lil Tjay’s associates, who were also injured in the incident. .

According to police, after being shot, the suspect was dragged into a waiting BMW car which fled with him.

Surveillance footage obtained by police shows the same car pulled up to Lenox Hill Hospital on the Upper East Side at 12:29 a.m., less than half an hour after the shooting, and let Konate go .

A witness confirmed that Konaté had been shot, and the eyewitness also shared details about the BMW.

Konate, who is from New York, was charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and weapons offenses.

Police say he shot Lil Tjay and his associates Jeffrey Valdez, 24, and Antoine Boyd, 22, who were with him at the mall.

Police document says one of Lil Tjay’s associates told cops Konaté approached the rapper’s red Dodge Durango while they were inside and demanded their jewelry while pointing the gun on them.

In the meantime, cops took Konaté’s clothes which he presented to the hospital and said they were being used as evidence as mulch from a flowerbed at the mall where the shooting happened was present on his clothes.

In the meantime, Lil Tjays associates are recovering from gunshot wounds. Boyd was shot and both men were charged with possession of an illegal weapon.

They are being held in the Bergen County Jail, prosecutors said.
