Pella City Council to Consider Liquor License for Downtown ‘Speakeasy’ | KNIA KRLS Radio – The only one you can count on

A new sweatshop could be incorporated into an existing restaurant in Pella’s central business district, pending the approval of a liquor license at the Pella city council meeting tonight.

Jason and Valerie Bandstra are the owners of Dutchfix, and they plan to add a basement lounge and cafe to their location at 621 Franklin Street to attract a larger clientele downtown.

A full-service bar will be part of De Kelder Speakeasy, open to those 21 and over.

Additionally, the board will consider three resolutions with Garden and Associates to amend two outstanding engineering service contracts and approve a new agreement for current and upcoming infrastructure projects, including the reconstruction of Bos Landen Drive.
The Pella City Council meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Pella Public Security Complex and can be viewed online: https://join.me/CityofPella
