Reita Marie (Davids) Erickson Obituary

  • Reita Marie (Davids) Erickson

Erickson, Reita Marie (née Davids) 89, of Prior Lake MN, formerly of Richfield and Eagan. Born to Robert and Anna Davids on 10/21/32 at Summit Farm, outside of Bagley MN. Reita met Rey Erickson at the Luther League in 1948 and they married in 1952. Over the next few years they had four children with whom they shared their deep faith and love of family. Mom instilled a love of nature in her children and grandchildren and showed us that every day can be a celebration. Mom was an extreme and fearless traveler, who was focused on sharing God’s love with everyone. She literally traveled the world and never planned to stop. She was a licensed pastor in the Assembly of God church, but she’s been a minister all her life. To say Mom was an amazing woman is an understatement. She had a heart for the missions and an unbounded love for her family—a family that grew with everyone she met. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, teacher, counselor, missionary and true blessing. We will miss his positive happiness, his interest in our lives, his unwavering support and his incredible ability to beat everyone at cribbage and cards. Reita was truly a gift to all of us and is now in Heaven with her Lord and Saviour. “Bravo, good and faithful servant”. Predeceased by her husband, lifelong companion and best friend Rey Erickson; parents, Robert and Anna Davids; brothers Robert Davids and Charles Davids. Survived by his older sister Hélène; children, John Erickson (Jan), Kristie Alberty (Mark), Paul Erickson (Kaye), Emily Bringle (James); grandchildren, Jacob Erickson, Ben Alberty, Sarah Erickson, Sam Alberty, Becky Westgard, David Bringle, Laura Dee, Joe Erickson, Jonny Bringle, Alisha Clarey, Cammie Nelson, Haley Michels and Chelsey Gerety; 20 great-grandchildren.
