Ruth Roth obituary (2021) – Archbold, OH

Ruth Eleanore (Hall) Roth, 94, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Hospice of Defiance. Ruth was born near Milton Center in Wood County, Ohio on August 19, 1927 to the late Lewis and Mildred (Baumgardner) Hall. On June 25, 1946, she married Vernon Roth of Pettisville, and he predeceased her in death on January 31, 2016.

The family moved to Fayette when Ruth was in college, and she graduated as a Fayette Class Promotion Major in 1944. After graduation, she worked in the accounts receivable department at Owens Illinois in Toledo. .

She is survived by her children, Barbara (James) Tanner of Quincy, Michigan, Karen (Roger) Nafziger of Archbold, Laura (Charles) Nafziger, Ron (Char) Roth, Donna (Terry) King, Connie (Kurt) Nofziger, and Rick (Deb) Roth, all of Pettisville, and Sandy (Mike) Short of Stryker; son-in-law, Richard (Brenda) Nafziger of Defiance; 22 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Clemma Stuckey and Sadie Roth.

She was also predeceased by her daughter, Joanne (Richard) Nafziger; infant granddaughter, Cynthia Kay Nafziger; and his brother, Ross Hall.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Arcbold Mennonite Central Church. Masks are encouraged. Family and friends will attend the funeral service at Pettisville Cemetery.

Visitations will take place on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Short Funeral Home is responsible for the arrangements.

Everyone is invited to join the family for a fellowship meal in the fellowship hall immediately after the service for those not attending the burial site. The family will return and join the guests after the funeral.
