Shaanxi Church marks 4th anniversary of building completion

A church in Shaanxi held a thanksgiving celebration for the fourth anniversary of the completion of its shrine.

From July 10 to 11, in addition to showing the video of the sanctuary’s dedication four years ago, the Shuguang Church in Baoji, Shaanxi, held sermons, worship meeting, theatrical performances, baptisms and communion services.

One day in 1992, five believers began to gather without a fixed meeting place. Worshiping God outside sometimes, they rode their bicycles through the streets preaching the gospel, so people jokingly called it “a church on a bicycle”.

In October 2006, they rented a two-story warehouse with 500 square meters (0.0124 acres) from Riza Company in Shuguang Road for more than ten years as their first temple, so it was called “Shuguang Church. “. In 2012, due to the demolition of the company that owned the warehouse, they built a small church in 15 days, which was called the “Floating House Sanctuary”.

After four years of hard work, the new church was completed in December 2016. Christmas services were held this Christmas, followed by five days of dedication celebrations on July 12, 2017.

In the Sunday service on July 11, 2021, 17 seekers were baptized by sprinkling.
