Siouxland Church welcomes a trunk or a treat
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Some children in Siouxland received a little ride or treatment on Sunday afternoon at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City as they organized a trunk or treat!
Church members lined up their cars in the parking lot as the children climbed in and out to pick up treats. People could also grab a hot dog and hot chocolate at the event.
Those with the church said it’s a fun time for everyone who’s out.
âWe just want to get together. We meet people that we saw a few years ago here and there and some of our members, but also members of the community. It puts a big smile on every face. people of all ages who pack up or care for our young families to our seniors, âsaid Pastor David Zirpel.
The trunk or treat not only allows children to show off their different costumes, but also gives adults the opportunity to be creative.
âWe have a lot of fun. People decorate their vehicles and have them all set up in different themes. And it’s fun to watch the kids come up and they have their different costumes. is a fun community effort, âsaid Phil Schauer, member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Church leaders said they hope to host the event again in the future.
