Suspects identified in King City double homicide – Monterey Herald
KING CITY – Police are asking the public for help in locating a suspect involved in the double homicide of the 20-year-old man and 18-year-old woman who were shot and killed on Sunday afternoon.
According to the King City Police Department, a shooting was reported at 1:22 p.m. in the area of ââSussex Way and Wellington Avenue in King City. When police arrived, they found a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, identified as Carlos Manuel Lopez Sanchez and Selena Gonzalez Godoy, dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
The King City Police Department and Greenfield Police Department investigative units have opened an investigation into the deaths of the two victims, which included a web of the area by officers for the victims, a review of videos of Home surveillance and video footage review of the Citywide King City Camera System.
Preliminary information gathered allowed police to identify Elizar Ayron Arellano, 19, resident of King City, and Raul Omar Lucas, 20, resident of Salinas, as suspects in the double homicide. Search and arrest warrants for Arellano and Lucas have since been issued.
Lucas was taken into custody and jailed in the Monterey County Jail on two counts of murder on Wednesday, police said. Detectives also arrested Rocio Villa Vasquez Martinez, 28, a resident of Salinas, for aiding and abetting the killings.
Martinez was taken into custody during a search of the homes of suspects, where police located and seized an unserialized assault weapon. Martinez was arrested for possession of an assault weapon, possession of a short-barreled rifle, possession of a high capacity magazine and endangering children. She was later identified as being involved in the double homicide.
On Thursday morning, Arellano, who is considered armed and dangerous, was not located, police said.
The King City Police Department said anyone who thinks they have seen Arellano should call the service at (831) 755-5111 and provide the time and location they saw Arellano, as well as describe the clothing and vehicle. ‘Arellano who could be related to him.

The California Highway Patrol, Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, Greenfield Police Department, Soledad Police Department and Salinas Police Department have assisted in this incident and the ongoing investigation.
