Here at Ideal Home, we love a church conversion – and this one is simply heavenly. There is just something so serene and regal about them with their elevated spaces, stained glass windows and amazing original features, and as soon as we saw this property we knew we had to show it to you.
Located in the heart of Battersea in London, The Sanctuary is an impeccably designed three bedroom apartment.
The exterior of the sanctuary
Imagine calling this place your home! Located in Brussels Road, close to St John’s Hill, the apartment covers 1,914 square feet and its impressive exterior is certainly quite unique.
Inside, the kitchen, living room and dining room all form one large open-plan space, located under the beautiful arched beams above.
A neat kitchen cabinet bank has been carved into the right side of the room, with a spacious bar area and high quality appliances providing everything you need. We love the dark tapered bar stools, which pair perfectly with the dark gray, black, and taupe colors.
Turn the other way around and you are struck by the prettiest church window in the back, which allows natural light to flood the room. In front of her is a large extendable dining table and it is clear that this apartment is made for entertaining.
The church is an incredible mix of charming original details and designer furnishings and this area is a prime example. We love that there are large, comfy chairs at the end of the table, while it looks like the table has golden legs, making it a real centerpiece. Then, of course, there’s this huge cowhide rug – and it’s all under a single hanging globe hanging from those arched beams.
There is so much to see at this property, with beautiful windows wherever you look, bare brickwork, and even a stylish bar that sits near a staircase.
Walk down these stairs and at the base of the iconic church spire you’ll find an Observation Gallery, which offers 360-degree views of the London skyline. We had to show you these wonderful stained glass works of art – aren’t they beautiful?
Upstairs you will find three double bedrooms, two en-suites and a family bathroom. We love the metal rolling tub in this room, sitting at the top of a step – we bet when those floor lamps are on and you gaze at the stars out the window, you’ll feel like royalty in this tub!
